My interest in racing started when I was about 12 years old, and my dad introduced me to NASCAR. He told me to watch Jeff Gordon, and I have ever since. The next year, he took me to the State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City. I fell in love with dirt track racing from the moment I first laid eyes on it. When I turned 18, I started working on the sprint cars of David and David Lee Lambert.
I met Kerry McAlister in 2002. We started dating in 2004. Shortly after, we started racing late models at Competition RC. We had a blast, but due to our racing commitments with the big sprint cars, we decided to sell our RC cars. After Kerry’s dad passed away in February 2017 and racing the sprint car only a few times after that, we made the tough decision to sell the sprint car. To fill the void, I suggested getting back into RC racing. It was also something we could introduce to our then 4-year-old son.
Kerry bought a used sprint car in February 2018, and it’s all built from that. I started racing in late 2018. For the 2019 season, I told Kerry I wanted to build a sprint car. We now have 2 winged ERC BSik1 sprint cars, 2 non-wing ERC BSik1 sprint cars, an ERC late model, and an ERC Midwest modified. We also have a street stock and Nastruck that our son, Kolton, enjoys racing.
I am thrilled to be a part of the ERC team for 2020! I am feeling more confident in my driving abilities and learning every time I hit the track.
